Excellent comments. I believe with this excellent service, Software Shortlist will enable software consultants to gain more exposure in the marketplace, particularly if they are "Certified Consultants" for the application being recommended. The selection of applications available on the list are growing daily. Awesome solution for all.

Rod,
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I'm certainly aware of the good work you're doing around social media and also helping your customers understand what it all means.

What I couldn't fathom is why, if you (jointly) commissioned the research the only comment attributed to Telstra is one that seems to want to scare business owners away from tools like Facebook? That's the point of my post, why the negative slant? There is such a positive story to tell about your efforts and your desire to contribute and share as I know and as you identified.

Clearly you can't control what the press writes, but you are Telstra...

Telstra isn't telling customers to curtail use of the internet, rather it is providing tools to small business cutomers who want to put some limits around usage during business hours - just like many big businesses do.
See the media release here http://tinyurl.com/l3uaqz
Interestingly, today Telstra hosted an event in conjunction with Austrade educating and encouraging small businesses to engage in social networking. We recognise our customer base is varied and has different needs - we're doing our best to help them deal with the social networking revolution in a way that suits them.
